This committee was created to inform, continually guide, and collaborate with the Chamber and its members in its initiatives to make intentions and efforts to work with diverse populations to increase representation and belonging; to develop and lead inclusive policies, practices, and initiatives among members and the community; to ensure those policies and practices are constantly reviewed, embodied, and normalized in the workplace; and to make intentional efforts for every business owner, every aspiring business owner, every Chamber member, and every person who interacts with businesses in Southeast Alberta to feel like they are accepted and belong regardless of colour, race, birthplace, life experiences, educational background, socioeconomic status, age, sexual orientation, accent, family etc.
