2026 LETR Solar Plunge for Special Olympics – Medicine Hat

Join us in Medicine Hat on August 11, 2026, for the inaugural Solar Plunge in support of athletes competing at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games! Presented by the Law Enforcement Torch Run, this exciting event brings our signature winter fundraiser into the Alberta sunshine, inviting brave participants to cool off with a refreshing plunge into icy water while supporting inclusion and Special Olympics athletes. 

The event will begin with the Final Leg Torch Running Team carrying the Flame of Hope from the Medicine Hat Police Service to Icy Mountain Water Co., where they will join community members, supporters, and plungers.

Register as an individual or create a team, then make an even bigger impact by collecting donations from friends, family, coworkers and local businesses through your personal fundraising page. The Solar Plunge will take place at Icy Mountain Water Co., located at 1001 Foundry Street SE, Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 1X6. 

Check-in begins at 12:00 noon, with the plunge starting at 12:30 p.m. 

A BBQ will also be available, with food for sale and all proceeds going to Special Olympics. Registration is $30, and every registrant will receive a $25 electronic tax receipt. 

Participants must be at least 16 years old, and costumes are strongly encouraged! Plungers can also earn exciting rewards by reaching fundraising targets, with more reward details to be announced.
