Art Room on 2nd is pleased to present “Intentions” by Alberta artist Megan Weir, the gallery’s first Feature Show, on view from April 10 to 25, 2026. The exhibition opens with a public reception on Friday, April 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests are invited to meet the artist, view the exhibition, and enjoy refreshments and hors d’oeuvres.
In “Intentions,” Weir explores the beauty and meaning that remain when sounds and distractions fade away. What’s left is “rooted in grit and grace.” This oil painting exhibition centers on mindful observation—inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and notice what truly matters beneath the surface. Her newest collection highlights the animals of the West—horses, cattle, and other wildlife—offering a quieter kind of attention in which each subject slowly emerges from the shadows, asking you to slow down and really look.
Art Room on 2nd invites the community to join this special exhibition at the gallery in downtown Medicine Hat. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to attend the public opening, meet Megan Weir, and enjoy complimentary refreshments. For general inquiries and questions about group visits, please contact Theresa Eisenbarth at Art Room on 2nd Gallery.
