Celebrate With Us

We’re excited to invite you to the Grand Opening of Kickstand Medicine Hat on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 3:30 to 6:30 PM. Ribbon cutting will be at 4:15pm after the program ends.

This community event will include a formal program with guest speakers, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, self-guided tours of the centre, a free BBQ, and prizes. Youth, families, service providers, and community partners are all welcome.

Come see how Kickstand Medicine Hat is creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for young people to access the right support, at the right time, all in one place. We look forward to celebrating this important milestone with you!

Introducing Kickstand Medicine Hat

Kickstand, in partnership with the Mental Health Foundation, the Government of Alberta, and McMan Youth, Family & Community Services Association-South Region, is proud to announce the launch of a new Kickstand Centre in Medicine Hat.

Kickstand is a province-wide initiative transforming how young Albertans access mental health and wellness support. Established in 2020 as the Alberta Centre for Excellence in Youth Mental Health, Kickstand brings together mental health, substance use, primary care, peer support, and social services (education, employment, housing and more) under one accessible, youth-friendly roof.

Through ongoing youth engagement and responsive service design, Kickstand ensures care is holistic, developmentally appropriate, and reflective of the diverse needs of young people and their families. At its core, Kickstand promotes early intervention, positive help-seeking experiences, and youth empowerment through helping young people take charge of their health and well-being. Our mission is to reduce barriers to care by bringing services together in one welcoming space that provides free, safe, and confidential support, helping young people feel supported, empowered, and encouraged to seek help.

Whether in-person or online, our goal is simple: to help young Albertans experience more good days and build a healthier future together.
