Misura Chartered Professional Accountants has been a trusted name in Calgary tax and accounting for just shy of 25 years. We are a tight-knit team of approximately 20 professionals who work together, support each other, and genuinely enjoy what we do.

One of our partners is transitioning out of the firm in late 2026. We are not just looking for someone to fill a seat — we are looking for the next partner.

THE ROLE

The Accounting Manager reports directly to the firm partners and leads both the technical and people side of our practice. You will:

- Review and oversee all staff-prepared client files with written coaching feedback

- Apply tax planning across personal, corporate, trust, and self-employed files

- Manage file assignments, workflow, and deadlines for accounting staff

- Conduct year-end and tax planning meetings with clients

- Coach and develop staff accountants and accounting technicians

- Participate in weekly management meetings with partners

- Complete monthly leadership development coaching with our firm business coach

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- CPA designation — active and in good standing

- Minimum one-year Post-Designation experience

- Minimum 3-5 years public practice experience

- Strong Canadian personal and corporate tax knowledge

- CICA In-Depth Tax Course or equivalent — a significant asset

- Prior leadership or mentoring experience in a public accounting firm

- Working knowledge of ASPE review engagement standards (preferred)

Note: We are a tax-focused firm. Candidates with a strong tax background are significantly preferred over those whose experience is primarily in audit.

WHAT WE OFFER

- Base salary: $100,000 – $130,000+

- Quarterly profit-sharing: 2% of net firm profits

- RRSP matching: 3% after Year 1, increasing over time
