Position Title: Janitorial Staff

Reports To: Janitorial Lead

Pay Grid: Level 1 - $16.50/hour

Department: HFA - Maintenance

Hours: Part-Time - 20 Hours

What qualifications are we looking for?

At the YMCA of Southeastern Alberta, we strive to ensure our employees are a good fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following:


Education/Certifications/Credentials/Professional Registration

    Standard First Aid, CPR-Level C

    Evidence of a clear Police Information Check (with Vulnerable Sector Search if applicable), within the last six months

    Must have a valid driver’s license with a class 07 automobile insurance coverage business use (or pleasure with occasional business use) and a minimum of $2,000,000 in liability coverage

 

Knowledge & Skills

    Strong leadership and communication skills

    Ability to act professionally in all situations, representing the YMCA according to its core values

    Able to deal with difficult situations and complaints with confidence

    Excellent customer service, organization, and time management skills

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Able to work days, evening and weekend shifts


What does this role look like at the YMCA of Southeastern Alberta?

Reporting to the Janitorial Lead, the Janitorial Staff is responsible for ensuring that all YMCA facilities are clean and well maintained.


The responsibilities and duties of this role will include but is not limited to:

    Provide day-to-day facility janitorial duties as directed and required

    Shovel snow in the winter, yard work in the summer

    Cleaning all fitness equipment, windows, and high touch areas

    Collect daily water samples

    Work in loud noisy environment

    Walking up and down stairs

    May lift or move items up to 75 lbs

    Will work with cleaning chemicals

    May work on a ladder
