What to expect in the role
The Fund Development Coordinator is a fulltime, permanent position and wage range is $24.75-27.75 per hour. This role is responsible for the coordination of fundraising, managing donor activities and revenue generation including writing grant proposals and business cases. Working closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, you would be responsible for:
- Facilitating the preparation, implementation and management of a comprehensive development strategy including individual, corporate and foundation giving and special event fundraising
- Researching and identify grant and funding opportunities. Work with Management Team to identify which opportunities to pursue.
- Write, edit, and coordinate submission of fund development and grant writing initiatives including assisting with conceptualizing, designing, and preparing new programs, program proposals and related reports, and writing and submitting grant proposals and funding applications
- Prospect, solicit, and steward new individual donors
What you bring
You are a strategic self-starter who can manage the entire fundraising cycle. You are an excellent writer for drafting and submitting grant proposals and business cases, and a diligent researcher for identifying new funding sources. You are also a skilled relationship builder, focused on soliciting and nurturing relationships with individual donors to execute a comprehensive development strategy alongside the Executive Director and Board.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in related field, degree preferred
- Two to five years relevant experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Proficient with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
- Proficiency in social media an asset
- Clean Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Record or one acceptable to the Executive Director
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of philanthropy - Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification an asset.
- A positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and act on their life choices and seek active participation in the community
- An understanding of the opportunities and options available to persons with disabilities, mindful of cultural and ethnic sensitivity
- Professional and tactful written and oral communication skills
- A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered
