Position Title:
Restaurant Float (Front-of-House, Serving, Cooking, Hostess)
Job Summary:
The Restaurant Float is a versatile team member responsible for covering various roles within the restaurant, including front-of-house operations, serving, cooking, and hosting. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and strong multitasking skills to ensure smooth restaurant operations and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Front-of-House Duties:
- Assist with customer service, including greeting and seating guests.
- Handle guest inquiries, reservations, and waitlist management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining and lobby areas.
- Support bussing and resetting tables as needed.
2. Serving Duties:
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring quality presentation.
- Provide menu recommendations and accommodate special requests or dietary needs.
- Process payments and handle cash/credit transactions.
- Ensure guest satisfaction and address concerns professionally.
3. Cooking Duties:
- Prepare and cook menu items following restaurant recipes and standards.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety procedures.
- Assist with food prep, stocking, and kitchen organization.
- Monitor food quality and presentation before service.
4. Host/Hostess Duties:
- Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Manage seating arrangements and communicate wait times effectively.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service flow.
- Maintain knowledge of daily specials, menu changes, and restaurant promotions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality role preferred.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to different roles as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic cooking and food preparation knowledge.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Must be a team player and willing to help in all areas of the restaurant.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a kitchen environment with heat, noise, and fast-paced movement.
