Todd Hirsch, a Calgary-based economist and author, will be the keynote speaker during a two-hour business seminar planned in Brooks next week.
The seminar, presented as part of the IQubed Series, is titled “Age of Adaptation: Todd Hirsch on Navigating Economic Chaos,” and will cover inflation, trade instability, AI and shifting global markets.
“Economic uncertainty, global disruption and rapid technological changes are reshaping how we live and do business,” reads promotion material for the seminar.
The aim of the seminar is to provide attendees practical insights and strategies to help navigate economic uncertainty and provide skills to better adapt in the current economy.
Hirsch is also the director of the Energy Transition Centre and the former chief economist of ATB Financial and is also a freelance economist for the Globe and Mail.
Hirsch also serves on the boards of Calgary’s Glenbow Museum and the Alberta Ballet, and is an adviser to the Dean of the Chiu School of Business at Bow Valley College in downtown Calgary.
An online link to register for the seminar, which will be held at 129 Second St. W in Brooks from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 10, can be found by visiting the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce webpage.
General admission is $20 per person.
The seminar is partially funded by a Labour Market Development Agreement to provide support programs and services to Canadians from both the provincial and federal governments.
