South Country Co-op celebrates 70th anniversary with upgrades to Dunmore location
Dunmore’s South Country Co-op marked 70 years of serving southern Alberta communities on Thursday with a celebration at the Gas Bar outside Medicine Hat.
The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the milestone anniversary and recent upgrades completed at the location.
The Dunmore Gas Bar and Liquor Store have received an updated look, with improvements including the addition of Chester’s Chicken, a new dog park area and fillable propane services.
Community members attending the celebration were able to take part in product sampling, including Co-op products and chicken tenders, along with treats and bandanas for pets visiting the new dog park.
The event also featured a draw for a patio set and the launch of a new “Stuff a Bucket” promotion at the liquor store.
South Country Co-op representatives were joined by members of the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce, including Lisa Dressler and Mike Lecorps, along with City of Medicine Hat councillors Ted Clugston and Dan Reynish, who attended the celebration and ribbon-cutting.
The event also brought together community members and local leaders to recognize South Country Co-op’s seven decades of service and its continued investment in the region.
