The Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce is promoting several events and webinars throughout Small Business Week.
Small Business Week, led by the Business Development Bank of Canada, recognizes entrepreneurs, small business owners and innovators, and promotes networking events to be held around the country to strengthen the local economy.
“Small Business Week is an opportunity to recognize the resilience, innovation and dedication of the entrepreneurs who take risks, create opportunities and strengthen our communities every day,” said board president Aaron Fleming. “Their success contributes directly to the economic prosperity and quality of life throughout southeast Alberta.”
Throughout the week the Chamber is promoting and hosting business and leadership events including a pair of leadership breakfasts, a health and wellness demo day, IT summit and webinars that focus on AI investment, growing businesses using acquisition and turning businesses into successful opportunities.
The Chamber has also published several free resources for small businesses, including its Local Business Toolkit – a comprehensive guide to launching and growing a business in Medicine Hat
“The Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce is proud to join this nationwide initiative in celebrating the innovation, resilience and contributions of business owners across our region,” reads a release.
Today Chamber representatives will attend a ribbon-cutting and open house for the Desert Springs Spa in Medicine Hat, and a grand opening celebration was held Tuesday at the Ballad Group opening in Brooks.
On Saturday, the final day of Small Business Week, residents are invited to the Health & Wellness Demo Day through a partnership with SKFitness.
The event aims to promote new fitness activities and will include bungee fitness demonstrations as well as mini trampoline lessons and a session focused on Strength Foundation.
More details on upcoming webinars, free business tools and Saturday’s Health & Wellness Demo Days can be found on the Chamber’s webpage.
