Cypress County, Alberta – Safety Buzz Campus (SBC) is proud to introduce a groundbreaking new training tool to Southeast Alberta: a state-of-the-art, portable commercial driving simulator designed to help employers improve driver competency, reduce risk, and enhance road safety.

As the only simulator of its kind currently available in Southeast Alberta, this highly realistic training system provides an immersive driving experience that allows drivers to develop and demonstrate skills in a safe, controlled environment without putting people, equipment, or property at risk.

At a time when Canada continues to face a shortage of safe, qualified commercial drivers, tools like this simulator are more important than ever. It gives students, job seekers, and community members a realistic, low-pressure way to experience what commercial driving can feel like before committing to training. By removing some of the fear and uncertainty around operating larger vehicles, the simulator helps people see that commercial driving is a learnable, achievable career path—and one that is open to people from many different backgrounds.

The simulator is designed to replicate a variety of real-world driving conditions and can accurately simulate:

• Class 1 commercial vehicles
• Class 3 vehicles
• Class 5 vehicles
• Trailer towing operations
• Adverse weather conditions
• Hazard perception scenarios
• Defensive driving situations
• Emergency response events

By implementing our Class 1, 3, and 5 commercial driving simulator, we aim to mitigate the stress that comes with practical testing and operating a commercial vehicle. By giving our students the ability to practice many different trucking scenarios in a virtual, safe, and controlled environment, we eliminate safety risks during early training. This simulator gives employers a powerful new way to evaluate and develop their drivers. Supporting the Wheels of Opportunity Program

Safety Buzz Campus will also be using the simulator as part of its Wheels of Opportunity Program, helping introduce participants to commercial driving careers while promoting safe and responsible driving practices throughout Southeast Alberta.

Over the coming months, community members may see the simulator appearing at local events, employer sites, schools, and community gatherings as SBC takes this innovative training opportunity on the road.
