Medicine Hat, Alberta – August 26, 2025 – Sanare Child Advocacy Centre extends heartfelt thanks to the Government of Alberta and Minister Turton for the recent funding increase provided to strengthen services for children impacted by abuse.

This increased support will have a profound impact in the southeastern corner of Alberta, where children and families often face barriers accessing specialized care due to distance and geography. With this funding, along with the vital support of the Alberta Law Foundation, Sanare is proud to announce the opening of a new satellite office in Brooks.

The Brooks office will ensure that children and families in rural communities have timely access to the advocacy, resources, and healing services they need, while also strengthening local collaboration with law enforcement, health, and social services.

"The Government of Alberta and Minister Turton have shown tremendous leadership in recognizing the needs of children in rural Alberta,” said Aimee Sarsons, acting Executive Director. “This investment, together with the generous support of the Alberta Law Foundation, makes it possible for us to open our Brooks office and bring critical services closer to families. These funds will be well spent protecting children, supporting healing, and helping to build safer communities.”

Sanare’s expansion into Brooks represents a major step toward reducing service gaps, reaching vulnerable children more quickly, and ensuring every child in southeastern Alberta feels supported and heard.
