CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LAUNCHES BOARD NOMINATIONS

(Southeast Alberta) The Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce announced its call for nominations for its Board of Directors, with nominations being accepted from Monday, March 31, 2025 to Monday, May 5, 2025.

Each spring, the Chamber of Commerce holds an election to fill expiring or vacant positions on the Board of Directors, comprised of 12-member representatives. Directors serve a two-year term that commences following the Chamber Annual General Meeting in November of each year.

'Our Board of Directors has set our goals to focus on value, impact and growth and help as an essential source of information and solutions to strengthen our community, uniting business, driving leadership and fueling success through our connections, support and influence, stated Steven Pudwell, Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce President. 'We are looking for dedicated, community-minded and driven leaders within our business community, who have a demonstrated ability to serve on a board and who are willing to put the time and energy into helping our organization work towards its goals.'

Successful candidates should be prepared to assist the Chamber of Commerce in accomplishing its strategic goals, be familiar with the duties of a director and be willing to contribute time to formulating and advocating on behalf of the policies related to the betterment of our business community. The Board is looking for those individuals who are aware of local, provincial and federal issues that affect our business climate and can respond to them in a reasonable, professional and discreet manner.

'Individuals who have previous board knowledge and experience will find value in contributing to an organization like the Chamber. We are seeking out those who want to assist in moving the organization's objectives forward with their time, knowledge and industry expertise', further stated Pudwell. 'Our team is member-driven, community-minded, solution-focused and collaborative and we work together to ensure that our members' needs are represented, as well as reaching out to those businesses who are not yet connected into our network. As such, we are looking for individuals who can continue to build on our strength as an organization and represent our membership on our Board.'

To ensure the Chamber maintains a fair and democratic process, the Chamber encourages members to submit potential nominees, which are then elected by the membership. If you or someone you know is interested in working with the Chamber to accomplish the Chamber's vision and mission, please contact the Chamber at 403.527.5214 for information or download the nomination package here and online at www.southeastalbertachamber.ca
