CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LAUNCHES BOARD NOMINATIONS
(Southeast Alberta) The Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce announced its call for nominations for its Board of Directors, with nominations being accepted from Wednesday, April 1, 2026 to Friday, May 1, 2026.
Each spring, the Chamber of Commerce holds an election to fill expiring or vacant positions on the Board of Directors, comprised of 12-member representatives. Directors serve a two-year term that commences following the Chamber Annual General Meeting in November of each year.
'Our Board of Directors continues to focus on delivering value, driving impact and supporting the growth of our regional business community', stated Aaron Fleming, Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce President. 'We are seeking committed, forward‑thinking leaders who bring both experience and passion for strengthening our business environment, and who are ready to contribute meaningfully to the Chamber’s goals.'
Successful candidates should be prepared to assist the Chamber of Commerce in accomplishing its strategic goals, be familiar with the duties of a director and be willing to contribute time to formulating and advocating on behalf of the policies related to the betterment of our business community. The Board is looking for those individuals who are aware of local, provincial and federal issues that affect our business climate and can respond to them in a reasonable, professional and discreet manner.
“Those with prior board experience or a strong understanding of governance will find this an opportunity to make a tangible difference,” Fleming added. “Our organization is member‑driven, community‑minded and solutions‑focused. We work collaboratively to represent the needs of our members while also engaging businesses not yet connected to our network. We are looking for leaders who can help build on our momentum and further strengthen the Chamber’s voice on behalf of our region.”
To ensure the Chamber maintains a fair and democratic process, the Chamber encourages members to submit potential nominees, which are then elected by the membership. If you or someone you know is interested in working with the Chamber to accomplish the Chamber's vision and mission, please contact the Chamber at 403.527.5214 for information or download the nomination package here and online at www.southeastalbertachamber.ca
